As long time farmers and personal wine makers, it was only a matter of time before Stephen and Robert would plant their first varietals in the Spring of 2001.
With intense enthusiasm and the support of friends and family, a vineyard was established with planting of a variety of grapes with the goal of determining which would do the best in the local climate and soil.

The hearty Aurore grape does very well in the vineyard.
Today, the vineyard holds primarily Aurora and Frontenac grapes. These have proven to be the most productive and hearty of the initial varietals planted, and have found a long term home at the Chateau Dusseau.
